With no round of the FIM World Motocross Championship last weekend several Grand Prix riders took their weekend to race some National races. The big winners were Belgian MX1 riders Ken De Dycker (KTM) and Kevin Strijbos (KTM), who won in Belgium and Ireland respectively, and British youngster Mel Pocock (Yamaha), who won the MX2 class in Ireland.

Swedish Motocross has always had a special history. It was many years ago that the Swedish riders dominated the sport of Motocross. All the way back to 1957 when Bill Nilsson collected the FIM World 500cc Championship until 1994 when Marcus Hansson won the FIM World 500cc Championship, Swedes were on top of the World or close to it.

Ryan Villopoto, four-times Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations winner and FIM Supercross World Champion, took the opportunity of coming to Belgium to enjoy watching the Belgium Grand Prix, which took place in Bastogne last weekend. The American champion repeated in numerous occasions that he is ready to fulfil his European dream and move over to Europe to take part in the FIM Motocross World Championship at least for one year.

The entry list for the fifth round of the UEM EMX125 Championship, which will take place in Uddevalla, Sweden, on 1st July weekend, has been made official.
