FUNCHAL (Portugal), 22 August 2012 – In occasion of the celebration of the MXGP Festival, the biggest motocross event in the history of the sport, which took place at Matterley Basin during the 19th August weekend, the Goa Delegation travelled to the United Kingdom to visit the FIM Motocross World Championship and to announce their will to host an MXGP in India and to make Goa a fix date on the Motocross World Championship calendar.

MATTERLEY BASIN (Great Britain), 19 August 2012 – The British track of Matterley Basin also hosted the final rounds of the UEM EMX65cc and EMX85cc Championships, as well as the penultimate round of the UEM EMX125cc and the fifth one of the UEM EMX250 class.

MATTERLEY BASIN (Great Britain), 19 August 2012 – The British track of Matterley Basin, one of the most spectator-friendly circuits on the schedule and one of the favourite tracks among many riders, has made history this weekend hosting the MXGP Festival, four days full of racing with 338 riders divided into ten classes. The day started this morning with a unique an emotional parade headed by Dave Thorpe and followed by all the riders who were taking part in the MXGP Festival.

MATTERLEY BASIN (Great Britain), 18 August 2012 – It was a splendid day today at Matterley Basin with up to seven classes racing the British track. Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings won their qualifying heats and Chiara Fontanesi was proclaimed the 2012 FIM Women Motocross World Champion after finishing second overall of the British round.

MATTERLEY BASIN (Great Britain), 17 August 2012 – During day two of the MXGP Festival all the riders taking part in the European Championships raced British track, and while the EMX65 and EMX85 had the qualifying heats, the EMX125 and EMX250 raced already the first motos of the British round.
